What you are going to learn
- This course has been designed around the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, current legislation relating to health and safety in controls schools and documentation required to comply with HS(G) 65 best practice.
Course Programme - Part 1 (3 hours)
Managing Safely
HEALTH, SAFETY & THE LAW
• Basic introduction to Health and Safety Law (UK)
• Health and Safety Responsibilities – Staff, Governors, Employer/Trustees
• Applying Health and Safety Responsibilities in your school.
• Explanation of Best Practice and relationship with DfE Government departments
CRIMINAL LAW VS. CIVIL LAW
• The key elements of the Health and Safety Law and how it applies to schools.
• Outcomes of not working within the law.

About
Adele Partridge has been creating Health and Safety training courses since 1999. She attended the Telford College of Arts and Technology in 2008 to gain her PTTLLS qualification whilst delivering NEBOSH and IOSH courses. In 2009 she set up her own consultancy business supporting business owners in Care Home environments, including specialist care centres for Children and Adults. From 2015 onwards she has been providing H&S support for Schools, nurseries, colleges and academies, using the information gained during audits as the basis for topical study in her training courses
